Labor market and prospects for IT professionals in 2020

01/21/2020 02:32:00 pm
Irina Taranova, HR Director of RAMAX Group, commented on the situation on the labor market and prospects for IT specialists in 2020 to the System Administrator magazine. On the eve of the New Year, one of the main questions is: what will it be like this year? What can we all expect from him? What events will it bring with it?
The editorial board of the magazine asked market experts to answer the following questions:
1. What did you remember about 2019 in the IT sector?
2. What were the main changes?
3. Is the domestic sector developing or is it still worth focusing on
1. to Western companies?
4. What specialties can be in demand?
5. How important is emotional culture?
6. What is soft skills and why is it important?
7. The Russian employer-has it become more civilized?
8. The most unexpected forecast for 2020?

Irina Taranova, HR Director of the RAMAX Group of Companies, noted that currently there is a great demand in the market in the direction of Data Science and neural programming.

Commenting on the importance of emotional culture, she stressed that a positive emotional state increases performance, reduces fatigue.

Emotions have a very definite influence on activity, depending on the nature and intensity of the emotional experience. They can be caused by both real and imaginary situations, and, as feelings, are perceived by the individual as his own internal experiences, transmitted to other people and as a result directly affect the work process. "It is also a concern for people, which allows you to create an almost unique corporate culture of openness, open-mindedness, honesty towards each other and to yourself first of all. The ability to quickly fix a mistake, not be afraid to say about it, get support and advice. Employees are primarily people, and each of them is a person that we respect and value, " the expert said.

Often, emotional culture is directly related to emotional intelligence. This is a deeper direction, with which we begin systematic work. Emotional culture is not only politeness and respect for each other, but also empathy, understanding when you can go a little further in the dispute, when you should wait for the opponent to "cool down", come, talk constructively in a shorter, perhaps even time frame, and the conversation will be built in a completely different way. We are talking about the ability to get away from raised tones, emotions, and move to a constructive dialogue. This is possible if you know your colleagues, understand with whom and what tools it is possible to build effective communication. Emotional culture is not just important, but is one of the main components of success.

Explaining the concept of Soft Skills, Irina stressed that, as a rule, professional skills are important in the world of developers: programming languages, working with Big Data, database architecture, etc. But it is Soft skills that make a specialist with all these skills more in demand and highly paid. And the same Soft Skills can help you improve your technical skills more efficiently and quickly. An employee who knows how to build communication with professional colleagues will quickly deal with most of the questions that they have.

What is it? Soft skills are non-professional, non-specialized skills that are responsible for successful participation in the work process, high productivity, and are end-to-end, that is, they are not related to a specific subject area. Here is a list of some of them: sociability, the ability to hear, listen and negotiate, the ability to work in a team, the ability to see the whole picture, self-organization.

"The future success of each of them and the company as a whole depends entirely on how purposefully we will work on developing the key skills and competencies of our employees," Irina stressed.

Answering the question " Russian employer-has it become more civilized?", Irina Taranova explained that " it was not less civilized, it is just special. The imprint is made by the fact that the Russian business itself is quite tough, and the competition in the market is great. There is a lot of competition for people in the IT market. This is the client's market, the candidate's market. And the candidate chooses. If we talk about the Russian employer in the IT market, then the lion's share of companies, if not all companies, build work in such a way as to interest the employee to stay, and to interest in various ways, including financial and non-financial, the atmosphere, working conditions.

So, in the IT market, the Russian employer is the most civilized figure, in that context: this is what the market dictates now. The ITT market is still so narrow that if someone's reputation is damaged, it will not even require the participation of the media: word of mouth will spread this information with fantastic speed. Applicants learn more about the employer not from the media, but from chats and correspondence.

Almost every employer in the IT market values their reputation highly. Modern companies should be proud of the fact that people get good feedback from colleagues, and come with the words: "I already know everything. I was advised by your company, they said: go, and you will definitely not regret it."
